Dark matter is a non-baryonic particles (not yet discovered properly).Baryonic particles are eg. Electron, proton neutrone,etc.
They reacts with gravitational energy but don't reacts with normal matter. At dark matter laws of physics don't work as we study they are applied in a different way.
DISCOVERY OF DARK MATTER.
While studying about gravitational lensing.
In gravitational lensing the lense (a massive celestial body like a galaxy) when all the information were gathered they were applied in computer stimulating software then it is observed that the mass of lense is (1/10)the of the mass that is required for gravitational lensing. So, scientist think about were this unrealistic mass come. There is the discovery of dark matter that is not so much discovered now.
What is WIMPS???
Weakly Interacting Massive Particles.
These particles don't reacts with normal matter who's mass is 100×the mass of proton.
